Our Mission:
Amarillo Family Institute, Inc. has been serving the Amarillo area since 1995. Our goal remains to provide the best in individual, marital, and family therapy. We strive to establish quality relationships with clients in order to resolve such problems as anxiety, depression, destructive anger and addiction. We also are highly committed to solving relational issues between spouses, parents and children or extended family members. Currently we have groups dealing with destructive anger and chronic illness concerns and provide opportunity for education regarding sexual addiction. Our staff is also involved in providing group marital intensive counseling for couples who are not responding to traditional therapy.
Amarillo Family Institute is also committed to providing individual and group training opportunities for area therapists. Therapists can take advantage of continuing education training on a variety of topics such as marital therapy intergenerational therapy, and professional ethics.

Our Staff & Offices
Terry D. Hargrave, Ph.D. and Sharon A. Hargrave, M.A. are the founders of the institute. They both have lived in the Panhandle most of their lives, have been married 27 years and have two children. They have over 30 years of combined marital therapy experience. Terry is a professor at WTAMU and has been involved in training therapists for over 15 years in the United States and Europe. Sharon and their professional associates at Amarillo Family Institute, Inc. are highly trained and provide therapy for individuals and families throughout the panhandle area.
